Where Do CO2 Emissions Come from?

Fossil fuel combustion
Burning coal, oil, and gas for energy in power plants, transportation, and heating produces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

There are various NetZero strategies that can be used to reduce carbon emissions and achieve a more sustainable future. Here are some examples:

One of the most important NetZero strategies is transitioning to renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydropower, which generate electricity without emitting carbon dioxide.

Implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices in buildings, transportation, and industry can reduce the demand for energy, and thus, decrease carbon emissions.

Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)
CCUS technologies capture carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and industrial processes and store them underground or use them for other purposes, such as enhanced oil recovery.

Nature-based solutions such as reforestation, afforestation, and land-use management can help capture and store carbon in plants and soils.
